this is a great knife sharpener.anyone can use it & it will sharpen scissors,wire cutters,potato peelers,nail clippers,anything you will need.

This system is good enough for your high end knives. I have had the system for more than 30 years. Just ordered the extra fine stones , you must order two. With some skill, you can put an edge on a very hard blade that is so sharp it is scary. I just rested my Gerber blade on my wrist and it made as small cut from the weight of the knife alone. I am an edge nut, I find it very relaxing to sharpen knives and this system is so easy once you get the hang of it. Skip all the other systems and go this route with the optional extra fine stones and you will be happy and able to impress your friends with the edge you can create!
Absolutely delighted by this sharpener
I received this sharpener ten months ago for Christmas. I am truly in love with this sharpener, and feel a rush every time I pull it out of the drawer in our kitchen. I've used rotary electric kitchen knife sharpeners (never again), Japanese water stones, diamond beds, and oil stones. The electric sharpeners make it easy to ruin your blade quickly (and never gave me a good edge), and the sharpening stones require an expertise that I will never have without sharpening blades daily (much as I wish I could).
The Spyderco sharpener is a simple apparatus (important to me) that truly puts on a fantastic edge in a couple of minutes. After ten months, I will never purchase a different kind of sharpener. You can tell how much I like it because I have patches of missing hair on my arms; I can't resist demonstrating the true razor edge of my kitchen knives. :)
