Unsafe product. A set screw loose and dropped inside motor housing & a dent coupling cover is continued to ship to customers
An unsafe product. The new model 7861920 has no difference with the old model 7861965. The part number of this model is printed on the Westinghouse box as the common number 78619. The last two digits 65 or 20 are the same. However, its price is different. The old model is around the max $176, and the new model is exactly $193. The printed label of making this fan in 2009 is found on the Westinghouse box.
When I removed the fan out of the box, I heard an impacted sound of a screw hitting its motor housing. I had to spend 30 minutes to remove this set screw (screw and lock washer) by using the mechanical pick-up tool. If customers do not have this tool, they have to open motor housing. This step may expose the danger to customers. Next, I found a dent on its coupling cover. All problems are careless from Westinghouse assemblers and this company does have a QC employee to inspect before shipping out to Amazon. A Better Ceiling Fan Then Some Reviewed; My Opinion
I almost hesitated to purchase this ceiling fan based on some of the reviews submitted by other Amazon purchasers. It arrived with all of the parts and thankfully no broken glass. I usually install ceiling fans myself, but had a pro electrician install this one. It hung nicely and looked like a more expensive fan than what I paid. The basket type of wire surrounded the light globe was removed after we decided it look cheap. It doesn't come with a standard light bulb, but that is not a real problem to me. I would recommend this fan so far based on my purchase and opinion.

We purchased this for over our patio table to help cool it off during the hot summer days and just get a little air movement! Not only does it look great, but it gives the feel of a tropical paradise. It does not shake when the fan is on, and the light gives off plenty- you could read under just fine. I love the yellow toned globe, it cuts off the harshness a light can give. Over all I would say its great. It was easy to install and it looks amazing! It was just what I was looking for. The price was just right as well.
Cons: Amazon took forever to ship it. The light bulb it came with was burned out when we got it.
